Divesting an offshore fibre optics telecoms business to a private equity-backed buyer
This offshore telecoms network was owned and operated by Cogitant's client - an oil major - providing services to its own platforms as well as to many other platform operators. Cogitant helped bridge the gap between technical and legal teams within the client organisation, preparing clear and concise documents describing in-scope assets. Mike worked with the legal team to draw up the complex set of agreements needed to support the sale and provide for and protect the client's interests as a future service user.
Age and accuracy of documentation raised some significant challenges as the project progressed, resolved by Mike's strong analytical, technical and detective abilities. Mike also represented client interests in technical and commercial discussions with the buyer, helping secure best value for the client and a smooth transition of business to the buyer.
